Fees & Rebates

All assessments include; an initial parent consultation, testing sessions, a comprehensive report with recommendations, and a parent feedback session to discuss the outcome of the assessment. Assessments will also include consultation with schools and other professionals involved. Depending on the referral question, assessment tools will be selected and the length of assessment determined during the initial consultation. An assessment process can take up to 3-4 sessions, depending on complexity. Each session is usually around an hour.

Assessment costs begin from $990 and can go up to $2700, depending on what is required. Initial consultation sessions are not included for any assessment pricing and are charged at $235 for an hour. All associated costs will be discussed with you in length during the initial session. There is no obligation to proceed with an assessment following the initial consultation session.

Individual counselling sessions generally involve a duration of up to 55 minutes. Sessions can be scheduled 2-4 weeks apart or as required. Please contact us directly to discuss fees for psychological services in more detail. You do not need a referral to see a psychologist unless you wish to claim a Medicare rebate.

Medicare rebates are available for clients referred under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and may be eligible for up to 10 treatment sessions per calendar year, subsided by Medicare. To be eligible for Medicare rebates, you must be referred by a GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist, who will assess your suitability for a Mental Health Care Plan, under the Better Access to Mental Health Initiative. A Mental Health Care Referral letter allows a client to claim a Medicare rebate of $93.25 (for a general psychologist). The date on the referral indicates when the rebates can be claimed from. In order to claim rebates, please ensure you provide a copy of the referral letter on your first session.

If you are not eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan referral, or have used all sessions on your plan for a calendar year, or do not wish to access a plan, you may be eligible to access rebates through your private health insurance.  Please contact your health fund to obtain more information about rebates for psychology services.

For families who are not eligible for Medicare or have private health fund cover, the consultations will be a total out of pocket expense.

NDIS funding can also be used for assessment services as well as counselling and intervention. It is recommended that you check with your funding manager to ensure that assessments are covered. We can see self and plan managed NDIS participants only.

Medicare rebates are also available for autism assessments, where there is a referral from either a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist.

Accounts are payable on the day of the consultation. Payment of all Telehealth and Telephone consultations is required prior to the scheduled session going ahead.

We require reasonable notice if you are going to cancel or change your appointment. This allows the session to be offered to another client on the waiting list who is in need of support.  If you cancel 24-48 hours before your appointment, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. For all cancellations made within 24 hours of your scheduled session, full payment of the session is required.  A courtesy text message reminder is sent out 2 days prior to your session. Payment of all cancellation fees and any outstanding sessions must be made prior to any future sessions being scheduled.
